POSITION SUMMARY
Based in our Glendale, CA headquarters, Fuse Media is currently seeking a Manager of Music Strategy. The music strategy manager will lead day-to-day execution of music strategy for linear broadcast channels within Fuse Media, including managing relationships with major label partners and internal teams. The music strategy manager is a creative problem solver, strategist, collaborator with solid communication skills, digitally fluent, and, importantly, a music lover.
This role requires an enthusiastic self-starter with the creativity and expertise to build interesting content from short form pieces and maintain our brand across channels. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to proactively follow up on all projects and see them through to completion. The ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Schedule and proof daily music video logs in GSelector software
• Interpret national music trends, such as radio reports from Mediabase, for use in Fuse playlist
• Develop and execute new music video block themes, concepts, and stunts
• Analyze linear channel ratings to optimize audience tune-in, through working with Research department
• Oversee day-to-day media operations including developing processes for working with our broadcasting center and internal media library teams
• Guide brand execution throughout music-focused original content by setting and maintaining musical identity for each show
• Provide proactive ideas on how Fuse can be a part of the zeitgeist / test new genres / strategic partnerships, etc.
• Assist with Talent Team communication including external playlist updates, facilitate asset delivery, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-3 years' experience in Music scheduling at the Manager level
• Experience using GSelector database
• Experience using Filemaker
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit & self-motivation.
• Demonstrate ability to learn new technologies and implement changes to improve workflow
• Demonstrate a self-starter attitude
• Critically and strategically think about plans in advance and execute them from start to finish
• Must be resourceful and have great troubleshooting skills
• Strong communicator with peers and outside vendors
