Job Description
The Product Manager, Sports.TV, will collaborate with the executive team to define, develop, launch, and maintain the direct to consumer OTT live linear monthly subscription service. This role requires strong product management experience, exceptional leadership skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, versatility and expertise in all aspects of video workflow, delivery, and user experience and most importantly, a passion for sports programming.
Responsibilities
• Define product goals, KPIs, and requirements in an Agile environment by understanding and prioritizing end-user and business stakeholder needs.
• Manage the priorities of engineering, operations, internal partners, third-party vendors and marketing to deliver effective and timely solutions while balancing technical dependencies, resourcing and other constraints.
• Partner with customer facing product teams to implement, onboard, and extend core solutions and use cases across platforms.
• Monitor analytics, user testing, customer feedback, and optimization technologies to drive continuous and interactive improvement of the service as well customer acquisition and retention.
• Use market and customer research, industry trends / best practices, and discovery with partners to conceptualize and develop product ideas.
• Own the delivery of the live video platform and ensure successful execution of the customer experience.
• Provide consistent communication back to clients and stakeholders on development progress and product delivery timelines as well as conduct feature roadmap overviews.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of digital product management experience in the media and entertainment industries.
• Digital industry expert with a passion for sports, TV and online video, and creating OTT consumer products.
• A proven track record of developing and launching successful digital video or sports products.
• Bachelor's degree in software development and product management. MBA preferred.
• Ability to drive and influence business decisions based on data and metrics with expertise in web, mobile, and video analytics.
• Strong understanding of digital video delivery technologies including video CMS, encoders, CDNs, ad decision technologies utilized for both VOD and live streaming, and knowledge of sports production and traditional broadcast technologies including scheduling/trafficking, signal origination/routing, playout, automation, and monitoring.
• Experience working in an Agile environment including defining and documenting product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in an execution focused, fast paced environment balancing multiple projects and priorities balancing short-term goals and long-term vision.
• Solution-oriented, highly motivated, and proactive self-starter.
• Strategic mindset coupled with an attention to detail.
