Job Description:
EMPIRE is looking for a Music Licensing Manager who is experienced in music licensing sales, marketing and/or pitching music to advertising agencies, broadcast networks, gaming companies, post production/edit facilities, production companies and TV/Film music supervisors
Responsibilities:
Field daily inquiries from clients and senior staff regarding license terms, status, and negotiation points
Draft license revisions to reflect negotiations and discuss with clients, senior staff, and business and legal affairs department
Evaluate recording and publishing metadata to ensure accuracy and formatting consistency
Enter individual license and royalty terms into company's licensing database
Increase profit and promotional opportunities for EMPIRE artists / songwriters
Pitch to advertising agencies and film clients through established contacts
Source new advertising agency contacts and build relationships
Liaise, negotiate and effectively communicate with talent representation, including legal, label, talent management, agency, business management, etc.
Investigate the potential of new brand platforms with the aim to develop synchronization opportunities within new markets
Negotiate deals for advertisements and film to EMPIRE's advantage
Build strong relationships with songwriters, artists and managers as well as affiliates with the intention of developing creative opportunities
Keep up-to-date with trends in music of all genres
Qualifications:
2-5 years' experience in the field of music clearance and licensing, including mechanical and synch licensing, and licensing new media rights, public performance rights, etc.
Familiarity with online copyright ownership research tools including discogs, allmusic, HFA and PRO searchable databases, and other sources
Experienced and knowledgeable of the common language used regarding music licensing in the advertising, broadcast networks, gaming, Film/TV music and entertainment industry
Ability to create new business opportunities at advertising agencies, broadcast networks, gaming companies, post production/edit facilities, production companies, trailer houses, and Film/TV music supervisors
Have existing client relationships within the industry
Ability to handle financial negotiations representing the organization and associated artists and management
Well-versed in numerous musical genres
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of how music impacts the visual medium
Flexibility to handle multiple projects and adjust to changing priorities
Excellent organizational skills and a detailed work ethic
Ability to work both independently and within a team to achieve goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle pressure and deadlines
