Full Time Job
The Director, Digital Media Programming and Acquisitions will be responsible for the daily management and execution of ESPN's multi-sport 'direct-to-consumer' programming strategy and execution. In this role, the Director will interface directly and day-to-day with BAMTech counterparts, content rights holders, and content producers in support of achieving content and business- related strategy and goals of the direct-to-consumer multi-sport offering. The Director will act as a day-to-day point of contact and leadership for ESPN/BAMTech related business with Product, Technology, Marketing, Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Finance, and Content Operations. The Director, Digital Media Programming and Acquisitions will report directly to the Sr. Director Digital Media Programming and Acquisitions.
Responsibilities
• Support ESPN Programming and Acquisitions teams on analyzing, negotiating and managing DTC related acquisitions; lead select content acquisitions
• Maintain partnership management with BAMTech, and key stakeholders across ESPN and the TWDC
• Design creative content strategies to drive customer acquisition and engagement
• Evaluate content pitches and future acquisitions across ESPN's digital properties, including using marketplace research and analytics to drive content strategy
• Work closely with Research and Product Analytics teams to develop actionable KPI's and reporting tools
• Manage day to day programming schedule and priorities
• Work with ESPN and BAMTech technology and product teams on roadmap, design, support and integrations
• Work with ESPN marketing and BAMTech audience development teams to design marketing and packaging tactics to drive subscriptions
• Facilitate internal communications and collaboration for all BAMTech related activity
• Manages and leads team of direct reports
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 8 Years of TV programming, Sports industry or Direct-to-Consumer service experience
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Proven ability to manage multiple priority projects
• Track record in effective partner management
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct-to-consumer and digital video experience a plus
• Creative and strategic thinker with proven knowledge of the sports business landscape and marketplace
• Contract Negotiation/Content Acquisitions and Content Development experience
• Experience understanding and interpreting research and analytics to drive business decisions
• Experience developing P&Ls and budget management
• Strong overall sports knowledge
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's Degree
