Creative Programming & Artist Management Intern - Spring 2018
As an intern for the Creative Programming department, you will be playing a part in producing the funnest aspects of our festivals! Our department creates all the non-music programming at Lightning in a Bottle and Dirtybird Campout, from dodgeball tournaments to yoga classes and soap box derbies. This internship would run from mid-January to end of May/June at our offices in Downtown LA, about 10 hours per week.
In addition to learning about the ins & outs of producing a festival, a portion of your time will also be spent on tasks that support one of our artist management clients.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include (but are not limited to):
• Researching potential vendors, creators, or partners relating to non-music Creative Programming
• Examples: yoga instructors, dance groups, archery companies, event screen printers, etc.
• Vetting photographers and videographers who apply to cover the festivals
• Collecting media assets from confirmed partners and creators
• Drafting and maintaining important production documents and resources
• Sourcing event production materials, rentals, and supplies
• Assisting with travel coordination
• Updating artist calendar with confirmed shows
• Creating artist tour books
• General office support - printing, faxing, filing, office organization and upkeep
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and able to receive school credit in exchange for this unique experience
• Proven interest in music, art, live events, or music festival culture
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic
• Strong Excel and Google Documents skills
• Quick moving and determined to shine
• Proper time management and organizational skills
• Must have a reliable car and laptop
