Freeform's programming is a combination of network-defining original series and original movies, quality acquired series, and blockbuster theatricals. Freeform is also the destination for annual holiday events with ''13 Nights of Halloween'' and ''25 Days of Christmas.''
Freeform Original Programming encompasses Development, Current Series, Unscripted Series and Casting, and as an intern with this team you will have the opportunity to contribute in all of these areas. We consider our interns to be members of the team, where you are able to:
-Provide unique perspective as part of our network's core demographic.
-Contribute to exciting projects, both educational and organizational.
-Find opportunities to aid assistants and executives in order to reduce daily challenges.
Responsibilities
Your Role:
We seek self-motivated candidates who are organized, upbeat, and eager to work hard in a busy, friendly environment.
Responsibilities
include administrative tasks, extensive reading and script coverage, and additional projects as needed. Love of television and an understanding of our current series and projects is a plus.
You may be:
-Reading script and novel submissions efficiently and critically.
-Writing detailed and informative coverage to assess projects for series development.
-Supporting executive assistants in daily duties, including handling confidential scripts for current series.
-Assisting with organizational duties and office logistics.
-Acting as greeter to external visitors and guests when setting up meetings.
-Getting opportunities to shadow meetings, pitches, notes calls, and table reads.
Basic Qualifications
What You Bring to the Role:
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
-Proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
-Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Exceptional phone, email, and interpersonal etiquette.
-Previous internship experience within a related field.
-A strong passion and desire to learn about the television industry.
-A knowledge and excitement for Freeform programming.
PLUS:
-All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
-All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
-All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
-All candidates must be available during the months of early January through late May for the Spring internship program.
-All candidates must be available to work 40 hours/week in Burbank, CA.
-All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
-All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
-Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year, or a recent graduate within six months of graduation.
-Experience fielding calls and answering multi-line telephones.
