We are a tight-knit team of ad system experts who wear many hats, embrace complexity, and enjoy finding clever solutions to difficult problems. We work with hundreds of stakeholders across the DATG Digital Media portfolio to design and implement technical ad integrations, manage key vendor relationships, and troubleshoot ad-related issues from pitch to pay. You are an expert in all facets of the ad system, and leverage that expertise to design, build, and troubleshoot technical ad integrations across the DATG product portfolio. You bring a strong technical background and stellar communication skills, which you use to build strong relationships across the company, and bridge the gap between engineering and sales. You enjoy diving into technical troubleshooting issues and getting your hands dirty, then switching gears and presenting an advertising product strategy roadmap. Along the way, you will work with stakeholders from product, engineering, PMO, sales, finance, and external vendors to build new ad integrations, drive improvements, and devise clever technical solutions that benefit everyone.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and operationalize technical ad integrations across all DATG-owned digital platforms
• Manage a portfolio of projects, including status reporting and delegation
• Develop product requirements that deliver a premium user experience while meeting business needs
• Communicate regularly with sales, product, and engineering teams on projects and operational needs
• Research and evaluate new ad products, experiences, and vendors
• Drive improvements in the ad system based on stakeholder feedback and first-hand experience
• Educate internal groups on ad system functionality, changes, new products, and industry trends
• Troubleshoot advertising issues, and escalate to other teams as needed
Basic Qualifications
• 6 years of experience in digital advertising or related field
• Prior experience working in digital video advertising systems such as FreeWheel or DFP
• Literate in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Working knowledge of IAB video ad standards (VAST, VPAID, VMAP)
• Experience using packet sniffers (Charles, Fiddler) to troubleshoot ad issues
• Knowledge of video streaming architectures, standards, and protocols
• Capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities
• Self-starter that can drive multiple projects inter-departmentally with minimal oversight
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to code-switch and translate between technical and business jargon
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct experience in ad technology role
• Web scripting development (HTML, JS, SQL), SDET experience, or technical solutions consulting
• Television industry or long-form video experience
Required Education
• A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably one in Computer Science or related technical field
