Manager, Office Of The President (ABC News)
The Manager, Office of the President, ABC News will support the President in executing their strategic, creative, and journalistic vision for the news division. This position requires a deep understanding of ABC News' standards of journalism, dedication to visual storytelling, internal structure, and brand; as well as excellent strategic, analytical, interpersonal, communication, project management and team leadership skills. The Manager, Office of the President will be a proactive member of the team and will have the opportunity to help influence the long-term success of ABC News.
Responsibilities
• Facilitates the execution of the President's vision and priorities through coordinating information, communications and resources.
• Acts as a bridge between the President and internal business leaders.
• Understands priorities, as well as short term strategies and helps to execute a plan on how to implement them.
• Manages and executes special projects as directed by the President.
• Works effectively with the executives and team members throughout ABC News, as well as in other areas of DATG.
• Participates in ABC News continuing reassessment of its growth, operational efficiencies, product offering, and distribution strategies in linear TV and digital platforms.
• Coordinates with the appropriate business leaders the creation and development of corporate and outside presentations such as the annual budget and 5 Year Strategic Plan.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience
• Ability to demonstrate poise, organizational savvy and executive presence
• Has a bias for action and deep operations and service delivery acumen
• Demonstrates ability to maintain standards of strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Must possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of management
• Demonstrates effectiveness /success leading change
• Ability to establish and maintain consultative relationships with the offices of senior leaders throughout TWDC, as well as partner with and influence all levels of management, both internal and external to Disney/ABC
• Ability to act in a manner supportive with the President's style, the ability to function effectively in a highly charged executive environment, and the ability to discern when to act independently
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities
• Possesses advanced computer skills in MS Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and other software as needed
Preferred Qualifications
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strategy or business experience preferred, including building and analyzing business plans and presentations
• Has proactive problem solving skills
• Has excellent analytical skills
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree required
Preferred Education
• Degree in TV/Film/Journalism or related field
• Advanced degree or MBA a plus
