ABC Signature Studios seeks a Director, Creative. This role will work closely with the division head managing an extensive slate of projects in all capacities. Given the rolling, year round nature of cable development production, the division is open year round to develop, pitch, produce and package their slate. To this end, Signature boasts a high-volume of projects in creative development in both drama and comedy in basic cable, pay cable and streaming. Candidate will also work closely with other members of the Signature team in creative, production and business affairs. The division is entrepreneurial and aggressive in their approach to development and production working very closely with their creators and producers. Candidate should be excited to be extremely hands on in their approach.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the division head and team members to implement creative development strategy in all capacities.
• Proactively manage the focus and the performance of studio assigned production pods and writer deals as Signature provides their destination in cable and emerging platforms.
• Run point on various projects including development and production duties such as pitch development, drafting script notes and on set production duties.
• Identify creators and show runners of tomorrow and actively pursue high level talent business for the division.
• Identify IP (including books and formats) for the division to option and develop.
Basic Qualifications
• 7 years of overall related work experience.
• Superior ability to lead meetings, present and communicate effectively.
• Ability to develop relationships with various parties of the development community and senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior television experience is preferred.
• Production and development experience is a plus.
• Current experience is a plus.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
