Discovery Communications is seeking a Producer/Editor to support our true crime network, Investigation Discovery. The Producer/Editor will be part of a small team that pitches, writes, produces, edits and publishes a high volume of multi-platform video content. This role requires strong video editing skills and experience making highly-engaging content for social media and digital platforms.
The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who works well with others, is organized, and has an impeccable eye for editorial. Strong Adobe Premiere video editing skills and strong writing skills are a must. Strong motion graphics experience is a plus!
Responsibilities
1. Ideate for new video franchises and content
2. Write, edit and publish daily and weekly video content
3. Work closely with social/digital team to prioritize and align editorial calendars
4. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality in all published content
5. Select and prepare cleared sourced video and audio to edit and export final projects
6. Clear, track and report all 3rd party assets
7. Streamline work flow and asset organization
8. Archive and organize projects to Discovery quality & technical standards
9. Manage vendors and their work product as needed
Requirements
* 3 years of experience in editing/producing quality digital video content
* Experience adhering to editorial guidelines and best practice
* Familiarity working with internal content management systems data entry, meta data, uploading and project tracking
* Strong background in encoding and knowledge of latest codex/industry standards
* Strong experience with Adobe Premiere
* Strong writing and editing skills and well as an interest in true crime
* Strong sense of curiosity about new technology and trends
* Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and remain flexible to changing priorities
* Ability work independently and within a team
* Ability to multi-task and process feedback from multiple stakeholders
* Good sense of humor and respect for sensitive subject matter
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Experience with directing preferred, but not required
* Motion graphics experience a plus (Adobe After Effects)
* Must have the legal right to work in the US
