This role is responsible for managing finances and maintaining financial records for our productions, working closely with the producer and the production office. The job includes preparing schedules and budgets for film productions, and managing the day to day accounting financial reporting against the budgets. This role requires knowledge of traditional film/television as well as new media operations. The majority of our shows are non-union, but will occasionally have a large union project, and experience with unions is necessary.
We have 70+ ongoing shows, executed at varying levels, with budgets varying from $1500 per episode up to $50,000+ per episode, as well as one-off projects in the range of $1,000,000. This role will require some creativity to create and implement processes to track and report spends across this programming. This role will manage a small production accounting team to oversee operations from processing invoices, purchase orders, expenses, petty cash, and payroll, and also tracking, reporting, and auditing these spends accurately.
Requirements:
7+ years in production accounting
At least BA in accounting
Extremely competent in accountancy and bookkeeping skills
Experience with payroll, production accounting software
Ability to manage a small team, delegating responsibility and accountability
Experience with PES, MyDAES, Cashet, and Movie Magic Budgeting is a plus
Must be very organized and detail oriented
