The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University seeks an editing professional for a term (Professional Lecturer) or tenure track (Assistant Professor) position in one of the most innovative and fastest-growing cinema programs in the country. Position begins September 2017.
Located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant Loop and Lincoln Park communities, the School of Cinematic Arts is part of the College of Computing and Digital Media, which also includes cross-disciplinary programs in Animation, Graphic Design, Game Development, and Interactive Media. There are over 900 majors enrolled in the Digital Cinema BA, BFA, BS, MS and MFA degree programs. The School of Cinematic Arts offers MFA's in Cinema, Screenwriting, and Animation. Resources include industry standard editing/color suites, sound studios, Alexa, RED EPIC, C300, FS7 camera packages, green screen stages, a motion capture studio, one television studio, three theaters (one DCP compliant) a lighting stage and comprehensive sound stage facilities at Cinespace Studios.
Job responsibilities include teaching, curricular development, service, supervising student/faculty projects and continued creative activities and/or scholarship in the field.
Ideal candidates for the positions will have extensive editing experience, preferably in long-form narrative. Experience with Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere required. The position requires a terminal degree or equivalent professional experience in editing or relevant related field. College level teaching experience desired. Applicants with success in working with diverse student bodies are strongly encouraged to apply.
