Freelance Job
This is a limited freelance project to be conducted on the applicants own time over a 3 week period. What's needed is for someone to heavily comb the internet for newspaper write-ups, magazine articles, interviews, biographies, etc. on a particular historical figure and create an archive of materials based on certain key words. This is not as simple as just googling something. We need deep, heavy research across multiple ONLINE archives such as public libraries, newspaper databases and various other catalogs.
All research (articles, interviews, etc.) will then need to be converted to individual, searchable PDF files and properly indexed.
Thorough knowledge of Adobe PDF is a MUST.
A strong interest, knowledge, and experience in biographical research is a MUST.
An interest and knowledge of 50's and 60's American Jazz and Blues is preferred but not required for the right applicant.
This is strictly a single project basis but if the work is exceptional it could lead to continued projects.
Ideal applicant is someone who currently supports a music or film executive, film producer, or has previously (or currently) acted as a research director in the field of Biographies or Documentaries. A smart, serious ''go-getter'' with boundless drive and enthusiasm
who already works a full time job and would like to make some supplemental income.
This is a very lax position. You will be given instructions at the onset and only asked to check in periodically and to deliver all work electronically as it becomes available.
Although few (if any) in-person meetings will be required, you must live in Los Angeles, preferably on the West side.
