A leading boutique celebrity entertainment and luxury lifestyle public relations firm is now accepting applications for an intern-to-hire assistant to the President.
Duties
The PR assistant is responsible for supporting the President of Public Relations and ensuring that the department functions efficiently, and successfully. To meet this responsibility, the assistant may be asked to perform typical clerical tasks, but will also conduct ongoing research to identify outlets and develop angles that result in press coverage in all forms of media. The PR assistant is charged with updating email lists for pitches, and deploying pitches. The PR assistant, as directed, will carry out additional functions that are critical to ensuring the President's success.
Qualifications:
In order to qualify, you must have demonstrated administrative and computer experience including proficiency in MS Office suite and social media platforms.
This means that you are proficient in email, both online and on smart phone, excel, word and power point, social media activities such as blogging or reading blogs, community development and management, social bookmarking, commenting, etc. and informed about the broader social media landscape. The candidate must think strategically, have a positive attitude, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves to help implement various tasks at your superiors direction will place you at the top of the list.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Administrative tasks, Social media tools and techniques, Strategy, Project management, Communications.
Skills & Education
A college degree in communications, journalism, business, or relevant field is preferred, however relevant experience, passion, creativity, and willingness to learn, and take direction are key. An understanding of advertising, marketing, and public relations philosophies, and proficiency in writing is also necessary.
Additional duties may include:
Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities (''marketing R&D'') * Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media to promote real estate listings internationally and reach desired UHNWI demographics. Strategize with the management team and others across the company on incorporating relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture.
Public Relations: Assist with pitches, press releases, emails and follow up. Attend red carpet events and assist with client services. Monitor trends. assist with servicing clients, track outreach, create status reports. Create, deliver, edit, and optimize PR materials. Ensure that messages are supportive of and consistent with PR messaging. Identify, and assist with the development of, and execute communications strategy for key media contacts. Research media coverage and industry trends. Conduct extensive media outreach. Improve communication efficiencies within company. Manage video content. Answer phones and manage call log. Implement organizational system for office. Respond to emails.
Administrative Management: Manage President's calendar, take notes, research, and develop pitches in line with supervisors desired angle. Pitch media, and follow-up via email and phone. Create EPK's and one sheets. Provide all administrative support to President. Coordinate flow of information and communication and disseminate it according to plan/strategy. Create thought leadership materials. Create and deliver media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bio, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals.
