Description
Boutique production company in Los Angeles that produces luxury commercials and independent films is seeking a publicity intern for the release of our film in February 2017.
You, as our intern, are a social butterfly, who knows the ins and outs of public relations. You know all the latest trends and make friends with everyone you meet due to your warmth and charm. You are social-media savvy, tech-savvy, and a go-getter. You know how to research anything that you are interested in, and can easily put together eye-catching posts that garner the attention of every person you know.
Responsibilities
10 - 15 hours a week dedicated time to us. Flexible schedule - but must be able to post/plan posts for social media at the peak & prime times.
Day to day will include evaluating current social media campaigns, submitting materials to promote the company or latest project, writing & posting Tweets/Facebook/Instagram updates, assisting with our company PR plan, editing materials (photo/video) for posting, and proposing & executing marketing plans for the company and our projects.
Requirements
Seeking a degree in journalism, marketing, or PR with focus on social media platforms. You have an interest in the entertainment industry. You are up to date on the latest social media tools - and have education/experience in these areas. You have your own laptop, vehicle, and (bonus!) editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop or the like is recommended). You are familiar with branding. You are independent, a fast learner, and have a drive to get things done, no matter how challenging. You can craft an appealing press release and know the best platforms to release on - and why. You have worked with publicity firms before, and have taken your experience with you to help you in your career.
If you are good at editing video, this is a huge bonus - Instagram is leaning more heavily on video and as a visual company, we are going with that trend. Writing skills are a must - you do not need to be the next Shakespeare, but you must understand spelling, grammar, and how to politely interact with people on the internet. Familiarity with project planning tools (i.e. Asana) is recommended for tracking, but not required.
Skills
Required - English, Marketing, Social Media, Social Media Marketing, Publicity, Composing Press Releases
Preferred - Video Editing, Social Media Development, Cision
