Details:
This is an unpaid internship position solely for achieving connections and experience in the industry. Candidates must have a concentration in communication, and a passion for music publicity. This internship really gives you the opportunity to have complete hands-on experience; to work closely with celebrity clients and experience what most internships at other companies do not offer.
Requirements:
This is a part-time position (at least two days per week) to start ASAP, and the ideal candidate must be located in Los Angeles, CA. Candidates must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, proactive, with great communication skills, who possess the ability to think outside the box. The ideal candidate should be extremely social, dedicated, willing, hard-working, efficient, and able to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with media & maintain an updated database of press contacts
Write press materials, including press releases, bios, media pitches and other related material
Proofreading and editing
Email Correspondence
Create misc. graphics as needed, i.e. invitations, banners, etc.
Cover & coordinate events as needed including photo shoots, press junkets, listening events, etc.
Client and online research
Media list and database maintenance
Media coverage tracking
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent grammatical and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
Previous Public Relations internship experience is required
Previous Music Public Relations experience is preferred, but not necessary
Must have excellent organizational and research skills
Complete knowledge of Word, Excel, Office, and Google Docs
Candidate must have their own laptop.
Can work well in a group setting
Must have a strong desire to succeed in entertainment/music publicity
Professional appearance and demeanor with a positive attitude is a must.
Currently enrolled in a college/university not required. Can provide college credit if needed.
