A fast-growing animation studio and producer of award winning programming is looking for an exceptional, seasoned professional to head their Human Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have great customer service mindset and substantial knowledge of Human Resources including benefits administration, conflict resolution, staffing, employee training, labor and employment law. Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and personnel files.
• Create appropriate job descriptions.
• Conduct workplace investigations and reporting and make recommendations.
• Manage benefits administration and enrollment and assist with health and safety.
• Ensure Federal and State law compliance by reviewing and making recommendations for improvement and changes to policies, procedures and practices.
• Function as a welcoming and available resource for employees.
• Process all ''life-cycle'' employment changes and conduct orientations, exit interview and terminations.
• Update employee handbook.
• Coordinate required supervisor training.
• Liaison with benefits administrator, HRIS/payroll services provider and WC broker.
• Handle WC and employment related claims.
• Strong supporter of company culture.
• Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions, coaching and counseling.
• Maintain the highest level of integrity, professionalism, fairness and confidentiality in all aspects of the job performance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of generalist HR work experience and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the animation industry a plus.
- PHR-CA or SPHR-CA certification.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff.
- Superb judgment and decision making skills.
- Highly organized, efficient, detail oriented and solid management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS software.
