Calling all masterful Codec Engineers: We are seeking a highly-skilled team member to work with our Technical Production Services team in Sunnyvale.
The Role
As our new Video Solutions and Codec Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting producers and creatives in crafting marketing and training content for our client's released and unreleased products.
A Day in the Life:
Supply engineering and video expertise both on and off set
Work with video deliverables, making certain they are transcoded and compressed to the highest quality
Be on hand for technical video production issues, anticipating, mitigating and solving any problems
Have a deep understanding of the latest in video technologies such as 4k, HLS, HDR-10, and Dolby Vision. Research and test any other new ones that come up
Validate or troubleshoot delivery strategies with internal and external teams
Resolve issues with signal processing and technical video production that may arise
Develop and execute tools to optimize production workflows
Enough About Us, You Have:
Substantial and proven experience with Apple hardware and software
Hands-on experience and a deep understanding of video signal processing, video codecs, video compression and transcoding
Experience with video production at an agency, film or broadcast facility
Experience working with modern consumer and professional video formats and workflows.
Experience with Apple's Compressor, FCPX and other post-production tools
Technical project management skills including networking and troubleshooting
Advanced level transcoding and compression expertise that accounts for color, banding, aliasing, artifacts and other quality-control standards
Knowledge of streaming technologies and deliverable specs for social channels
Resourceful with proven creative problem-solving skills
Exceptional communication skills
Engineering or equivalent degree, plus minimum of 6 years working in a technical video production role
