Beverly Hills based talent agency is seeking a Business Affairs Manager; duties include but are not limited to:
• Act as a liaison to clients, managers, business managers, and all other entities in answering business affairs related questions and solving any issues
• Process client payments in accordance with the collective bargaining agreements, talent contracts, agency contracts, and the agency payment processes
• Handle accounts receivable and make agents/division heads aware of collection issues
• Correspond with production, business managers, payroll companies, clients and other entities in order to collect client's payments and/or commission
• Attend to accounts payable, ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner
• Coordinate escrows, ensure receipt of funds and release of payments as necessary
• Collaborate with management companies, attorneys, and other third parties to ensure check authorizations and all other related documents are on file
• Ensure bookings are logged correctly, allocated splits are recorded, and enter/prepare/send invoices when necessary
• Assist with agency contract questions and necessary modifications
• Track and verify commercial renegotiation information, prepare necessary correspondence with ad agencies and reports for agents
• Reconcile trust and operating checks on a monthly basis
• Obtain any 1099 information for CPA
• Track model accounts, log advances, reconcile credit card expenses, disburse mother agent commissions
• Prepare payroll for payroll provider as required
• Assist with month-end close when necessary
• Produce client reports for agents and clients when requested
• Additional duties/projects as needed
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree
• At least 3 years of experience in an agency or management finance/accounting or business affairs department
• Understanding of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract, The SAG-AFTRA TV & Theatrical Agreement, and print/non-union commercial contracts
• Knowledge of the agency commissioning process and experience processing client payments; talent, model, and other entity splits
• Understanding of the AP/AR process, invoicing, collections and aging reports
• Familiarity with the DLSE and talent agency contracts
• Solid understanding of the entertainment landscape
• Proficient in MS office, specifically excel, outlook, and access
• Ability to multi task and act with high levels of professional discretion
