An emerging artist is seeking an Assistant Music Manager. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Music Manager is to proactively assist artist in all aspects of the artist's career development.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Work with the artist and artist's team to make sure all opportunities to advance the artists career are identified and catalogued for follow-through.
• Maintain an evolving list of all deliverables agreed to by artist and artist's team and coordinate the efficient and effective completion of all deliverables.
• Maintain and manage a comprehensive calendar for artist including tours, performances, interviews, red carpet and other publicity events, writing/recording sessions, business meetings and all other time-dependent aspects of artist's career.
• Support artist's efforts to build/deepen artist's social media presence, artist's presence in the video viewer community, and presence in all other communities where fan bases can be built.
• Keep artist's website current and relevant at all times.
• Assist artist on all correspondence with artist's team (e.g. email) and all communication with fans (e.g. twitter).
• Assist in creating YouTube videos.
• Work with artist and PR team to make sure marketing material appropriately represents artist, is kept current at all times and that promotional material (e.g. press kits, photos, etc.) for all PR opportunities is available in a timely fashion.
• Maintain an active and comprehensive file of all press, media, fan video, and other relevant material for use across all fan bases and key influencers.
• Work with artist and PR to ensure that artist is aware of all possible industry events and is invited to all key events.
• Support artist's brand with regard to on-stage presence, fashion, and other characteristics.
• Participate as needed on tours and help coordinate artist's activities with venue relationships to help enhance such relationships.
• Stay updated on current and potential trends in music, music business, pop culture, and lifestyle industry.
• Participate in all other activities as directed by artist.
Qualifications include (but not limited to):
• 5+ years of experience managing an artist in the music industry or as senior assistant to artist.
• Understanding of and appreciation for music and all aspects of music industry.
• Trustworthy, loyal, and dependable.
• Highly ethical - discretion and confidentiality a must.
• Hard working, self-motivated, results oriented; must be able to meet deadlines , anticipate needs , and get things done.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and take ownership of workload.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to generate confidence in relationships with artist and each member of artist's team.
• Strong computer/technical skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
