Do you have a favorite feminist experimental documentary filmmaker? Is your happy place made of films by Godard, Chantal Akerman, Agnes Varda, or Andrew Bujalski? Do you know who Anna Karina is, and can you think of your favorite look of hers? Would you show up on the red carpet in your own clothes rather than a gown or tux? Do you have an obsession with micro-level boutique apparel brands, artisanal coffee, instagrammable breakfast spreads, and would you take Silverlake over Santa Monica any day?
If you can answer yes to any one of these questions, we want to talk to you! We're an aggressively progressive production company based in Los Angeles, Calif., seeking a casting director to help us identify attainable name talent and possibly step into producer shoes as well.

• Identify talent lists of small-to-mid-level rising stars with some value in the independent and international film markets
• Source and identify non-name talent with distinctly relevant visibility
• Attend auditions when available and help review tapes and workshop findings
• Communicate with agents and managers, develop offers, help negotiate contracts
• Produce as needed and when possible, assisting in the acquisition of locations, expendables, and wardrobe
Preferred Qualifications:
• Has basic knowledge of independent, arthouse, and international feature films
• Has a basic understanding of the procurement aspects of name talent at major agencies, as well as in dealing with smaller management offices and talent themselves
Required Education:
• N/A
Preferred Education:
• Master's in Communication, Cinema Studies, Post-Structuralist Theory or related field.
Company Overview:
We're worldbuilders. We make the invisible, visible. We do this by engineering and deploying disruptive digital technologies and thinking not just outside of but beyond the box, realizing that there is no box, the box was just an illusion. Now is your chance to join our groundbreaking team and pioneer the future of applied digital cinema.
Compensation:
• DOC - Depends on Contribution. This is a part-time freelance role, candidates determine their own level of involvement and activity.
• Salary deferred - We're a co-operative production company so partial ownership in the finished film is fully negotiable.
• An imdb credit as casting director or producer.
• Equity partnership.
**Relocation assistance is not provided for this role**
We're equal opportunity - Our goal is to create an inclusive workplace for all.
