Who We Are : Cinestate is a Dallas-based entertainment company founded by film producer Dallas Sonnier (BONE TOMAHAWK, SOME KIND OF HATE) and publisher Will Evans (Deep Vellum Publishing) that seeks to improve upon the status quo in three key ways: cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with visionary creators who want to see their projects made faithfully and distributed widely; eliminating the arbitrary separation between the mediums of books and film; and minimizing unnecessary production costs while fiercely protecting our creators' work. In its first year, Cinestate produced three feature films (BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99, PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH, and DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE), introduced the world to an ear movie experience known as an Audiostate with the first title THE NARROW CAVES, and is set to publish the latest novel from S. Craig Zahler entitled Hug Chickenpenny: The Panegyric of an Anomalous Child.
Who You Are: You aren't just a film fan, you live the life! Attending film festivals such as; Frightmare, Telluride, and Screamfest are priorities for you. You dedicate hours upon end to finding unique stories. You are a die-hard film fan and love to read! You follow film/publishing blogs and news sites always staying ahead of the curve. You are active on social media including apps such as Snap Chat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Do you see where we are going here? You are not afraid to ask questions, you are not afraid of constructive criticism, you desire perfection and are team focused.
What you will do: (Not limited to) -
Administrative -
-Answer calls, take messages, greet guests and set up for meetings (including - ordering food and preparing - audio/visual equipment.)?
-File, scan, photocopy and general administrative duties
-Attend, arrange and create agenda for staff meetings
Online Publication
-Assist with copy-editing and regularly contribute to weekly editorial meetings
-Come up with ideas and pitches for writers
-Assist Editors in content upload
Publishing
- Assist publishing department with new titles including metadata entry, marketing plans, and reading submissions.
Marketing
-Assist social media manager with events and promotion
-Aide in monitoring social media accounts and interacting/engaging with audience
-Aide in updating company website, CEO's website and client's website
Audio / Film Productions
-Assist in any way necessary on company film and audio productions including but not limited to running errands, ordering supplies, -arranging travel and meals, etc.
-Read and offer coverage to incoming submissions
