Responsibilities The Broadcast Operations Co-ordinator role is fast paced, dynamic and interacts with the News production teams providing expertise and resources for booking fibre, satellite and outside broadcast facilities for the live production requirements. The role is instrumental in the planning and execution of the News teams projects. Great communication skills are a must as the role requires contact with Affiliates, CNBC & NBC resources around the world. Qualifications/Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily guest bookings from Europe and around the world for the CNBC news team
- Manage daily guest bookings for CNBC's Worldwide partner and affiliate broadcasters, including physically meeting, greeting and connecting guests at the London newsroom camera
- Attend daily and weekly newsroom planning meetings
- Liaise with CNBC's London News Desk team and make determinations to prepare and plan all aspects of CNBC Europe's outside broadcast coverage
- Liaise with assigned London producers to finalise details and implement the plans made for CNBC Europe outside broadcast coverage
- Assign CNBC owned camera equipment and contracted outside broadcast facilities where available and appropriate
- Source third party suppliers and co-ordinate with them on all necessary equipment required for the successful implementation of CNBC's outside broadcast plans
- Source and co-ordinate with third party ENG camera suppliers to supply skilled operators and appropriate equipment to suit other non-live CNBC News team requirements
- Source third party studios in the Europe region and beyond for live Europe anchor or guest or tape playout bookings
- Organise, and when necessary, attend site surveys of new locations whether for live coverage or pre-record shoots
- Occasionally act as on-site production co-ordinator if necessary and appropriate
- Research outside broadcast and pre-record locations and wherever necessary assist in the securing of any necessary filming, parking or any other permits and permissions
- Procure all services within budget
- Proactively seek and implement cost effective solutions and suppliers
- Maintain accurate records for budgeting and invoice confirmation
- Maintain good lines of communication for effective and immediate co-ordination with CNBC London MCR
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to clearly communicate with News Room staff, Technical & OB staff & Finance Dept
- Commercially minded, able to book cost-effective time on Satellite and landline bookings
- Knowledge of database management systems
- Ability to show initiative when devising & adopting new procedures
- Self-motivated & able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Computer-literate.
- Fluent in English, other European languages helpful.
