Bilingual Reporter
General Job Description:
Weigel Broadcasting Co. in Milwaukee seeks an experienced Bilingual Reporter to complement our news team. Responsibilities are primarily reporting, but may include acting as an MMJ occasionally. This job requires a self-starter with good news judgment, strong writing ability and solid live skills. We are looking for a storyteller.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Receives assignment or evaluates news leads and news tips to develop story lines.
Organize material, determine slant or emphasis and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.
Shoots video and still photos to illustrate stories.
Gives live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit.
Write and produce quality news stories for multiple media platforms.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written Spanish language skills required.
Must have a minimum of two years, news experience in shooting and reporting, including gathering content, editing, and running live shots.
Must have strong live skills and the ability to research, write, shoot, and edit daily news stories under deadline pressure.
Must also have a strong understanding of multi-platform journalism including how to shoot, write and edit stories, video and photographs for the web and social media. Investigative work a plus.
Must have valid Driver's License and insurability.
