Production Supervisor (Blue Sky Studios)
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing resources and schedules for a department(s) so as to ensure the efficient execution of the departmental deliverables. Reporting directly to the Production Manager/Producer, they work directly with Leads/Heads of other departments up to an including the Director(s) of the project and/or Studio Executives. Has broad responsibility for ensuring studio procedures and practices are best-practice and result in ongoing improvement in quality, quantity and efficiency.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
-Reviews and negotiates on production goals and determines the most efficient way to achieve them through analyzing scenarios and collaborating with senior Production Management.
-Develop procedures and methodologies to track, organize, improve and manage all aspects of their production process and methodology, responding as needs change. In partnership with the Production Manager, makes recommendations for improvement of the production process.
-Day to Day operations/tasks within the department; Supervisor reviews, Director Reviews, etc.
-Work with artistic and/or technical leadership on coaching/managing the team(s) towards meeting/exceeding production and individual performance expectations. This includes but is not limited to annual performance reviews.
-Break-down production pipeline steps as they relate to the department with emphasis on the impact both up and down stream in the pipeline.
-Communicate with leads & technical directors regarding deadlines and prepping shots for daily rounds
-Ensure that the correct processes are being followed and meetings are scheduled (handoffs, kickoffs, reviews, etc)
-Negotiate production solutions across departments up to and including the Director(s) and/or Studio Executives.
-Track, analyze and report on department trends regarding productivity, quotas and long range planning.
-Onboard new hires: Organize workstations, ensure proper training for studio processes (timesheets, vacation requests, lighting notes, etc.)
-PA/APM management, coaching and delegation, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
-5-7 years production management experience demonstrating career progression. Successful Supervisory experience very strongly desired
Skills
, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
-Skilled at quick and perceptive analysis and reporting to Producers/Directors and Studio Executives.
-Demonstrated experience and proficiency at using Microsoft office software: MS Word, Excel, Project, etc.
-Ability to multi-task and to adapt to changing departmental needs.
-Ability to relate to, and effectively communicate, with all levels of employees in a professional and appropriate manner
-Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, matrixed environment with constantly shifting demands and priorities.
Additional Requirements:
It is a requirement of the role that the incumbent be able to fulfill offset and/or heavy time requirements as may be required by Production demands and schedules.
