INTERNSHIP: BACK ROADS ENTERTAINMENT
Back Roads Entertainment is an Unscripted Production office located in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. We have produced shows such as the Emmy-Award nominated, ''Lake Life'' on DIY, ''Joking Off'' on MTV, ''Big Bad BBQ Brawl'' on Cooking Channel, and much more. We recently finished production for 24 Episodes of 50 Cent's new comedy show on BET, ''50 Central.''
We are looking for interns with a passion for television who are available a minimum of 2 days and up to 4 full days a week. Applicants are REQUIRED to obtain school credit for this internship. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint is preferred. Adobe Creative Suite and video editing is a plus. The internship will start in January, during the second semester.
The curriculum will include weekly masterclasses from Back Roads employees in the following departments:
--
Development & Casting - Casting and Development interns will learn how to research and development techniques for unscripted projects, keep up to date on buzz-worthy news and trends and to learn how to develop and pitch original formats to the creative team. Interns will also be integral to the process of finding the perfect talent for format-driven and talent-driven shows by helping in both researching specific populations and learning how to vet and interview potential talent.
--
Production - Interns will learn the ins and outs and pre-production and support the Tech Manager before and during shoots. This includes Interview set-ups, how to build a proper shoulder rig, how to properly light different scenes, and Inventory check-in and check-out system.
--
Post Production - Interns will learn about the post production process from ingestion, transcribing, to exporting, and support the team with the deliverables of projects.
