Back Roads Entertainment is a successful unscripted TV production company based in NYC. Our credits currently include Joking Off (MTV), Big Bad BBQ Brawl (Cooking Channel) and Lake Life (DIY). We are currently looking for Casting & Development interns with a passion for reality TV who are available a minimum of 2 days and up to 3 full days a week.
Primary responsibility of our Casting and Development interns will be to assist in research and development of projects, keep up to date on buzz-worthy news and trends and to learn how to develop and pitch original formats to the creative team. Interns will also be integral to the process of finding the perfect talent for format-driven and talent-driven shows by helping in both researching specific populations and learning how to vet and interview potential talent. Interns will participate in a 13-week lesson plan that covers all aspects of the TV production process, from development to production to post-production. The curriculum will include weekly classes from Back Roads employees as well as weekly pitch sessions with the entire development and casting staff.
