POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager role will be responsible for delivering complete and accurate performance inputs to BMIs quarterly distribution by managing cue sheet and performance identification processes.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Establish and monitor team productivity and quality goals.
• Manage activities to ensure goals and objectives are met.
• Monitor and maintain metrics with respect to workload volumes, productivity and quality and report to department Leader on a regular basis.
• Manage the use of third party data to ensure timely receipt of information (i.e. usage files, cue sheets, etc.) and work with MDI and/or data partners to procure information when necessary.
• Manage the quality of third party data to ensure appropriateness for distribution processing.
• Work with the Team Lead, Managers, Quality Assurance and others as necessary, to define and implement quality assurance measures to ensure that inputs into distribution are complete and accurate.
• Ensure that team priorities align with distribution directives.
• Serve as the knowledge leader as it relates to music usage/performance information for assigned distribution sources.
• Actively participate in training and provide ongoing coaching to team leads and/or team members.
• Ensure that the team is equipped with necessary resources to perform their jobs and that departmental goals are being met.
• Continually evaluate current business processes and systems.
• Participate on project teams with the design, development, testing and implementation of new systems/software.
• Establish new policies and procedures to improve quality and processing efficiencies.
• Prepare team members’ performance reviews for merit increases.
• Recognize and, when appropriate, reward exceptional job performance
• Organize and manage departmental meetings/stand-ups.
• Participate and contribute to special projects on an as needed basis.
• Handle relevant day to day operations inquiries.
• Regular attendance.
• Stay abreast of current industry trends relevant to BMI’s business.
• Support BMI Core Values and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion.
• Other relevant duties as needed.
Specific to Distribution and Administration Services AV Team
• Manage ID rates and cue sheet compliance while reporting results to the designated DQM (Distribution Quality Manager).
• Initiate the procurement of late and/or missing cue sheets, usage reports and other music performance information required for processing.
• Manage the investigation and resolution of cue sheet and performance identification issues.
• Assist with the onboarding of new sources.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises departmental team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, directing and ensuring the reliability of work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in music business or general concentration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles and practices.
Experience:
• Minimum four (4) years external experience in operational/processing field, music business or at least three (3) years in BMI related field.
• Advanced computer navigation skills including Word, Excel and general proficiency with other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
