Full Time Job
Responsible for managing the incoming workflow for the International Relations department and act as a liaison between the foreign societies and BMI, by performing the duties below.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Agreement administration
• Prepare new agreements, modifications, exclusions, terminations and associated documents.
• Legalize/authenticate new agreements when necessary
• Requires employee to go to State Department, foreign consulates, et al
• Monitors IRS compliance
• Notify BMI employees of new agreement
• Data entry of new agreement
• Send agreements to Document Imaging
• Communicate agreement stipulations internally and externally
• Provide documents to foreign societies for licensing negotiations or legal proceedings
• Gather affiliation agreements or prepare mandates and power of attorney
• Legalize/authenticate documents when necessary
• Requires employee to go to State Department, foreign consulates, et al
• Maintain “Foreign Society Profiles” and “Multi-territory Licenses” Access database
• Provide BMI staff with foreign society highlights, distribution irregularities/interruptions or other relevant news
• Answer or forward e-mails and AVP mailbox
• Assist writers, publishers, users and other outside parties with their international questions
• Liaise with foreign society regarding BMI distributions
• Includes interaction with international societies, Royalty Accounting, I/T, and Production Control
• Provide societies with explanations regarding distributions
• Prepare distribution reports
• Assists with Special Projects and Research
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year administrative experience preferred.
• Foreign language strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Highest level of confidentiality
• Strong communication skills: written, verbal and comprehension
• Must have strong analytical and good mathematical skills
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence
• Attention to detail
• Fast learner.
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population, and with all levels of staff and management
• Ability to conduct research using a variety of sources including internal databases, the Internet and third party resources
• Ability to work independently and with good judgment
