Strategic Insights & Research
Location: New York, NY
The Brand Insights, Content and Marketing Research Team at BET Networks is responsible for developing, executing, synthesizing, and leveraging consumer insights to inform the BET Networks Enterprise including leadership, development, press and marketing. The Strategic Insights and Research department is built on the foundation of an expertise in broad-based insights into the African American Consumer Market, and specifically their content consumption attitudes, behaviors and evolving lifestyles. The Senior Manager will report to the SVP of Strategic Insights & Research and support all research efforts for the BET and Centric brands. The ideal candidate is an experienced Media Research professional with a deep knowledge of, and passion for media, entertainment content and the African American consumer market.
Responsibilities
include:
• Support the research team to develop, track, and present a holistic understanding of the brands across the BET Networks enterprise. This includes brand ‘health’, competitive positioning and our brand alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization as a whole
• Provide research and insights to the BET Networks Marketing group to inform show/brand positioning, audience targeting and engagement, creative campaign development and media planning
• Provide pre-launch awareness/intent-to-view tracking and post launch effectiveness analysis of our key franchises.
• Work closely with the BET Networks Content Development and production teams, and to deliver content based insights, including pilot tests, show testing and studies to support the maintenance of key franchises
• Work closely with the BET Networks Press group on their messaging about show launch positioning
• Help manage proprietary online research panels and vendor partners
Specific skills and requirements include:
• 3 years of related media research experience, including Marketing and Content Research
• Bachelor degree or higher
• Solid experience in qualitative research, including moderating focus groups, conducting in-depth interviews, analyzing qualitative research analyses.
• Solid experience with pilot and show testing
• Experience in quantitative research, including survey design and analysis
• Able to turn complex/intricate analyses into clear, easy-to-understand “story-telling” presentations
• Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable candidate to interact with a wide range of personalities/styles and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Self starter, highly proactive, and collaborative.
