TITLE: DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES
DEPARTMENT: BET NETWORKS HUMAN RESOURCES
REPORTS TO: SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES
OVERALL DESCRIPTION:
This position will provide senior level leadership and direction for the Human Resources function at BET Networks. As a seasoned HR Director, you’ll act as an advisor and collaborate with the business on all people related strategy and issues. You have a profound ability to relate to people and rapidly build high performing partnerships and influence across the business. You create and inspire trust and openness amongst colleagues and clients. The individual will have exceptional HR Generalist functional knowledge and experience and will be a primary point of contact supporting employees and managers on a full range of HR services
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for senior level decision making and day to day management of operations
• Serve a consultative business partner, provide guidance, direction, expertise and lead HR processes, programs and policies, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, coaching, leadership, talent development and career planning
• Build successful relationships across the organization and develop a detailed understanding of business needs
• Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees in order to effectively solve problems and provide recommendations
• Act as a trusted partner to oversee human resources and employee relations matters, providing support to management teams, working with legal counsel, HR leadership and other key stakeholders on the identification, escalation, risk mitigation and resolution of issues. Conduct investigations as needed
• Oversee the management and interpretation of headcount data, movement, salaries and funding in partnership with the HR team and Finance
• Conduct compensation analysis with Compensation department to ensure organizational equity and to manage costs
• Solve problems, understand the underlying challenge and coach managers and employees on resolution ensuring appropriate and timely corrective action. Provide insights to decision making
• Partner with business on all key talent decisions providing HR advice, consulting and expertise
• Work with business partners to identify critical factors influencing turnover and engagement
• Provide ongoing and proactive coaching to employees and managers
• Strong collaboration and partnership with Talent Acquisitions on recruitment and onboarding
• Assist in the facilitation of top talent discussion with leaders and drive on-going follow-up and updates
• Partner with Organizational Effectiveness group in diagnosing organizational needs, conducting assessment work and planning client initiatives and engagement programs
• Develop high performing and strong partnerships with Human Resources team throughout the organization to identify best practices, share knowledge and work together on continuous process improvement and efficiencies
Basic Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ progressive experience and increasing responsibility as an HR Generalist or HRBP
• Ability to build rapport and collaborate across the organization; strong client relationship management
• Experience working across and in partnership with the various HR disciplines
• Excellent organizational skills
• Superior written, and verbal communication with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
• Strong team player and great interpersonal skills
• High level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated proficiency in human resources management and best practices
• Critical thinking
• Ability to anticipate needs, challenges and potential issues
• Act with a sense of urgency and reprioritize quickly and effectively
• Strong ability to multi-task and juggle projects
• Excellent time management and project management skills
