Global Audio Content Production Coordinator
Audible, Newark, NJ
The Global Audio Content Production Coordinator (GACPC) splits duties between audio production (editing/mastering) and global project management for our international productions. There will be editing and mastering of spoken word audio content, long-form and short-form, with occasional sound design and music mixing. Audio education and experience are a must, preferably with spoken word but music is certainly acceptable. The GACPC must have a solid background in the technical aspects of manipulating digital audio as well as a complete understanding of hard disk recording and non-linear editing. It is also imperative that the GACPC has a strong command of the English language and its grammatical construct beyond that of common usage. This combination of skills is most often found in those who have had experience in communications, have a theater background, studied literature or read it often. Strong knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is a big plus.
On the project management side of things, the GACPC will own the production and post-production stages of a subset of Audible audio productions. They will work closely with and communicate regularly with the in-house content teams, and be in regular contact with our out-of-house studio partners as they submit auditions and produce our international content. They'll provide feedback and guidance proactively and as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Edit punch-recorded spoken word audio into a top-notch retail-ready audio product.
· QA (Quality Assurance) checking of fully-produced audio content.
· Master audio and create industry standard, retail-ready final products with good levels and clean sound.
· Attend regular planning meetings and scrums with internal teams.
· Provide updates to all stakeholders as requested.
· Be constantly aware of the status and quality of all international titles currently in production.
· Assist with post-production of Audible Studios audiobooks and other productions as needed.
Minimum Required Skills:
· 1-2 years' experience coordinating production in an audiobook or music environment
· 1-2 years' experience in audio post-production (editing)
· 1-2 years' experience in audio production (recording, mixing)
· 1-2 years' experience in professional, commercial audiobook or music environment
· Excellent listening skills for audio
· Strong business correspondence skills, especially with email
· Strong knowledge of at least one foreign language
Personal Characteristics:
· Strong attention to detail
· Solution-oriented, positive attitude
· Comfortable operating autonomously
· Creative problem-solver
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· A self-motivated performer
· Strong leadership qualities
· Articulate
· Effective judgment in making critical, time-sensitive decisions
