POSITION: Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships
DEPARTMENT: Advancement
LOCATION: Los Angeles Campus
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships works directly with the Director, Strategic Partnerships to support AFI’s objectives through supporting corporate giving programs and corporate sponsorships. The Coordinator supports the Director, Sr. Vice President of Advancement and President in researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate donors and sponsors.
The Coordinator will work with departments across the organization, including AFI Productions, AFI Fest, AFI Conservatory, and AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center to secure information for proposals and reports, and service existing relationships. Working with Program Managers to oversee fulfillment, he/she insures that all corporations receive the benefits they are promised by receiving all tickets, passes, marketing tie-ins, brand awareness, photos and corporate visibility opportunities. Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships also oversees final reporting to AFI sponsors to insure that sponsors receive a detailed record of the direct benefits of their sponsorship.
In addition, the Coordinator will manage and organize in-kind contributions of technology as well as other in-kind products and services, serving as a clearinghouse for all institutional needs and work with the Director to develop a corporate membership program for AFI.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Support the Director, Sr. VP of Advancement, and President by providing research briefings, supporting documentation, preparing proposals and presentations for meetings, and discussions related to Strategic Partnerships for AFI.
• Work with the Director and Sr. VP of Advancement to develop an annual corporate membership program, research and develop prospect lists, cultivate, and support solicitation of membership gifts.
• Work with Director to re-approach, secure and track all existing AFI corporate sponsors and other funding sources for AFI programs including Festivals, Life Achievement Awards, AFI Awards, and Conservatory
• Work with Director, Strategic Partnerships to create and update advancement materials and proposal templates
• Maintain files, payment schedules and contracts for all Corporate partnerships
• Work with Director, Strategic Partnerships to draft all contracts
• Work closely with Marketing to determine all National sponsorship marketing opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director, Sr. Vice President of Advancement, or President.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 2 years of fundraising or marketing experience
• Demonstrated success in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate donors and sponsors
• Strong computer and database management skills. Familiarity with the Raiser’s Edge database will be a plus
• Superior oral, written communication, organization and presentation skills
• Experience working with a broad base of leaders, and in the training, managing and motivating of key volunteers
• Knowledge of local media and film community a plus
• Must be qualified in proofreading, task prioritizing and task management
• Must have excellent computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet

SUPERVISION:
Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships will perform the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities subject to guidance from and supervision of the Director, Strategic Partnerships.
