We have some very exciting plans for operating the largest multifunctional event venue space in Brooklyn and to expand the production of our full-on sensory and immersive music events that always try to push the envelope, create something new, and surprise our guests.
We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Brooklyn, NY location. In this key role the incumbent will perform both operational and tactical aspects of Human Resource related to the acquisition, development and retention of our company's greatest resource - our employees. In this robust, hands-on role you will assume comprehensive HR Generalist duties to include employee relations, payroll, talent acquisition, labor law compliance, etc. This role plays an integral part in helping the organization achieve its goals through effective systems, practices and HR management.
What you can look forward to accomplishing
General HR and employee relations: Conduct investigations, perform exit meetings, employment verifications, assist managers with disciplinary matters, maintain employee files, oversee implementation and completion of performance reviews, etc. Help managers interpret and enforce company policy. Proactively identify and address areas of risk for the company and/or where compliance guidance is required.
Recruiting and Onboarding: Manage full cycle recruiting process, ensuring every candidate's experience is exceptional from initial contact through to first day of work. Develop and implement ways to recruit diverse talent. Effectively manage recruiting and onboarding workflows.
Benefits administration: Work with management to develop a competitive benefits offering to attract and retain talent.
Reporting: Create various reports related to benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, etc. Proactively develop systems knowledge and expertise to continuously improve efficiency and optimize reporting.
Workers Compensation: Intake and case management for workers compensation cases. Proactively manage cases to closure, while minimizing risk to the company. Report risks or suspicious cases to management as needed.
Compliance: Maintain Employee Handbook, ensuring updates are timely and relevant. Ensure labor law posters are current and posted appropriately. Conduct job analysis for FLSA and to ensure compliant job descriptions. Stay current with applicable compliance requirements.
Research, suggest, and implement all HR technology and systems
Stay abreast of HR trends and takes on projects/other duties as assigned
Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
3+ years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting and general HR
2+ years of experience with report writing
Demonstrated working Proficiency in MS Office Suite (to include strong Excel skills)
2+ years of experience encompassing HR compliance (knowledge of and ability to conduct research on HR related compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws to include labor and wage laws, record retention, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Outstanding customer service and communications skills (written and verbal) are essential
Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
Strong reasoning/problem solving and multitasking abilities

Curious, adaptive, focused, able to change and grow
