1stAveMachine is a mixed media production company and storytelling outfit. We create video, digital, and experimental content for TV, print, web, and mobile, as well as experimental events. This past year, we released our first feature film, Finding Sofia, which is currently being screened at film festivals worldwide.
Since it's formation 1stAve has won numerous awards including Gran Prix, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Cannes Lions, multiple AICP awards, One Show, and ANDY awards, along with many others. Our work has been featured across the globe and during the Super Bowl. Recently, 1stAve has produced a series of spots and experiential events for adidas, as well as major Facebook campaigns in the US and UK.
The 1stAve Creative Development team is seeking a new member. Creative Development is responsible for supporting 1stAve's roster of award-winning directors and four executive producers in pitching on commercial projects. The responsibilities include working directly with our directors during their ideating process, laying out treatments, searching for image and video references, managing pitch budgets and timelines, acting as liaison with agencies, editing mood films, coordinating small shoots, tracking and managing office production equipment, and related duties. In simple terms, Creative Development is a team of pitch producers with strong coordination, research, graphic design and people skills.
(Please see TECHNICAL SKILLS before applying.)
Joining the CD team at 1stAveMachine is an opportunity for aspiring directors, producers, creatives and designers to break into advertising and learn a variety of talents and capabilities. It requires someone who is up to date with trends in advertising, music videos, tv and film. This person must be able to act as both a creative and a coordinator, who can deal with tight deadlines, communicate incredibly well and perform under pressure. Multi-tasking and critical thinking abilities are also of utmost importance, as there will often be several ongoing pitches at once. Because of the nature of creating treatments, we are looking for someone with strong visual skills from both a design and general aesthetic standpoint.
As is true of the general production world, hours can be long and schedules may fluctuate on a day-to-day basis, but the payoff is rewarding. Please note that you will be required to work some weekends depending on pitch schedules, but for the most part may work remotely during these instances.
All in all, 1stAve is an incredibly energetic, fun, creative place to work and we look forward to hearing from you!
TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: InDesign [PROFICIENT], Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Google Docs and Spreadsheets, basic equipment use (Zoom recorder, lavalier kit and Canon cameras), strong writing and copyediting ability.
