12:05 AM Productions, LLC is seeking a qualified attorney to work on legal affairs for the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show including drafting production work and related agreements, content and script review, rights and clearance analysis, guild issues, licensing, advertising, promotion and publicity issues, and, providing timely legal advice to various team members and stakeholders in connection with the show. The successful candidate will report to the show's lead Program Attorney and will advise Producers, Creative, Business Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Standards & Practices and other program and network executives on various legal issues.
JOB DUTIES:
• Attend daily production meetings, rehearsal and taping.
• Review and vet monologue scripts, clips and stills for use in the show.
• Advise writers, producers and show executives on legal issues for show segments.
• Review use of clips in connection with nightly guests.
• Draft, negotiate, review and track production agreements, such as nightly guest agreements, releases, location and other show agreements.
• Review and provide guidance on promotional announcements and material for the show.
• Advise and consult with executives on the show and at the network regarding all aspects of the show.
• Assist in vetting promotional campaigns and concepts for legal and risk management issues.
• Advise on digital and social media campaigns in connection with the show.
REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of three (3) years legal experience at a production company, studio, network or entertainment law firm, preferably with experience in television production.
• Licensed to practice law in California.
• Outstanding analytic, communication, organizational and drafting skills.
• Comfortable and confident in fast paced working environment.
• Be able to multitask and work quickly and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
Candidate should also have one or more of the following:
• Experience in communicating and working with producers, talent, attorneys and executives.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following: intellectual property, defamation, rights of publicity/privacy, knowledge of digital and social media legal issues and clearances, labor and other production related legal issues.
