Accountability and Scope:
The Benefits Administrator is accountable for administering and maintaining Streamland Media's benefits programs to include but not limited to health insurance, life insurance, retirement, wellness, employee leave of absence policies, and employee assistance programs in compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, OSHA, ACA and applicable Federal and/or State employment laws and regulations. The primary function of this role will be to provide guidance to Streamland Media's multi-state employees, act as a liaison between vendors and employees and advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain an ''expert'' level understanding of the benefit plans and trends, program offerings and regulatory benefit requirements in a business environment and must stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation
Must have the ability to research, evaluate, and analyze complex technical data related to fully-insured and self-funded benefit plans and programs in an organized way
Monitor benefit database integrity, ensuring invoice accuracy, reconciling account discrepancies, and submitting timely payment requests on a regular and systematic basis
Manages ACA administration and reporting to include all employee communication, and annual fee reinsurance
Manages, designs and implements policies and procedures relating to a company's wellness programs and activities designed to improve employee health and well being
Audit, process, activate employee applications, benefit changes, updates or initiate benefit separation documentation, as applicable, on benefit provider web site
Assist and monitor the design of HR Benefit website changes, upgrades, application of designs, inter-active tools for end-users, training modules and/or third-party benefit links updates. Monitor all updates have been recorded and data integrity is maintained
Serve as liaison with the third-party benefit administrators to provide prompt assistance to employees and/or dependents in resolving benefit issues, account corrections or emergency response needs
Assist in the coordination, facilitation, communication, implementation and roll out of benefit Open Enrollment, HR/Benefits programs, education meetings for employees, as needed
Responsible for resolving employee inquiries via the HR Ticketing system, as well as over the phone
Assists with ad hoc reports and projects as needed (i.e. annual open enrollment, ACA filing, 401K administration, audits)
Other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, business, and/or human resources
Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred but not required
Experience:
5-7 years of proven experience as an HR and Benefits administrator
General knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources administration and the general operations of the Company
Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of Health & Welfare benefit principles and human resources management systems (i.e.- ADP Workforce Now, PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle)
Solid knowledge of the DOL, Federal and State employment laws, FMLA, CFRA, PFL, State Disability, Workers' Compensation and OSHA regulatory compliance
Previous experience working with self-insured benefit plans
Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Project management skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate the meaning of information
Demonstrated strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking
Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work well within multiple levels of the Company and a diverse population of internal customers
Proven ability to understand and collaborate with internal I.T. associates in the technology requirements and needs for the periodic HR intranet website applications and changes, required
Knowledge of employee benefit programs, processes, issues and considerations; ability to design and implement benefits program
