Director, Programming - Asian Content
Based in Singapore, the Programming Director will be a key role in Asian content programming and be responsible for overall acquisition, programming strategies and channel operations with the objective of improving channel performance and increasing revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the programming team for Asian content which encompasses all the programming functions from acquisition to scheduling and channel operations
• Manage the acquisition needs of all channels, effectively closing deals with joint venture partners, overseas distributors, identifying and acquiring suitable programmes
• Strategize programming direction to maximize ratings and lead other functions like Marketing, PR and Creative Services in campaigns to constantly drive channel performance
• Initiate and execute business development for Asian content, by expanding territories for existing channels or launching new service/channel in the region
• Work closely with Airtime Sales, Marketing and Distribution/Networks Sales to increase and maximize revenue for the channels
• Ad hoc project management or evaluation on new business opportunities (co-production, investment, JV partnership)
Requirements:
• A Diploma/Degree in Media, Mass Communications or any relevant discipline
• At least 5 years of relevant managerial experience in the media or television industry especially on TV content acquisition and programming (both linear and digital platforms)
• Strong language proficiency in English and Chinese
• Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills, including resolving complex problems within a short amount of time
• A self-driven and creative individual with leadership qualities, outstanding communication, networking and interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable about trends in entertainment and passionate about content of various genres
• Technology savvy and resourceful with good research skills
• While based in Singapore, the position is required to travel to attend trade events, content markets and for any business discussion with partners
