Director of Finance & Accounting

Description of Position: mtheory LLC seeks a motivated, knowledgeable individual to oversee all financial operations of a high-growth start-up.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Prepare company monthly financial statements and financial information packages for owners
• Perform GL entries
• Track business cash flow and create cash forecasts
• Handle business accounts payable and accounts receivable functions (invoicing, collections, etc.)
• Prepare project budgets and business plans; track financial performance vs. budgets
• Create project royalty statements
• Oversee financial management of select client companies (income tracking, financial reporting, invoicing, etc.)
• Support general office management and policies, including payroll, procurement, benefits, etc.
• Other projects as requested by company leadership

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years service in similar positions in the music or entertainment industries.
• Accounting degree required. Professional designation is a plus.
• Familiarity with music industry accounting, royalty statements and artist agreements
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• Corporate finance and/or investment banking experience a plus.
• Must be strong self-starter able to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Good judgment and ability to work without constant supervision
• Must be flexible, organized, proactive and work well with others
• Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently
