Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., ("MGM") is looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Television Accounting team. The Television Accounting team oversees the accounting and reporting functions relating to the development, production, acquisition, licensing, and distribution of television content. The Senior Analyst will support all accounting functions relating to our scripted and unscripted series while focusing primarily on MGM's produced television content.
Responsibilities:
• Take onus of the monthly accounting close including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, analyzing and explaining fluctuations / variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management
• Ensure compliance of appropriate accounting policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including FP&A, Production, Corporate Accounting, Tax, and Operations to maintain flow of communication and support
• Analyze current procedures in order to recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability
• Review television agreements and interpret contractual terms for proper accounting treatment
• Research and document accounting positions on technical subjects including revenue recognition and gross vs. net considerations, as needed
• Prepare deliverables for annual financial statement audit
• Build trust with senior management through effective communication
• Contribute to exciting ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, curious, enthusiastic, and adaptable
• Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong proficiency in Excel
• SAP experience is preferred
• Prior public accounting experience in the entertainment industry is a plus
