Job Overview
The Programming & Scheduling Intern will support a range of duties under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Programming. This role is perfect for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possesses a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. The intern will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with various levels of staff and gain hands-on experience in the field of programming, scheduling and public media.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assist with daily input and updates of schedules in the Nielsen eNames online portal
• Help distribute monthly program schedules and updates within the organization and to media listings
• Proofread schedules for accuracy in both the ProTrack database and Excel files
• Respond to programming-related inquiries
• Participate in other departmental duties and special projects as needed
Qualifications
• At least 18 years of age
• Be a self-starter able to work independently while working collaboratively with colleagues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with online platforms
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• A genuine interest in public television programming and a desire to learn about the industry
• Previous experience with scheduling software is a plus but not required
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily a telecommuting setting. However, the position will require occasional meetings in our Burbank office or nearby venue. Depending on the position, job duties, and subject to the discretion of the company, the position may be telecommuting eligible in whole or part.
