REPORTS TO: EVP, Business & Legal Affairs

SUPERVISES: Co-Supervision of Legal Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Primary emphasis on transactional work for the Business Development/ New Media department.
• Negotiate and draft agreements for the distribution of CEG content via a variety of new media and other ancillary platforms (e.g. broadband, wireless, DVD, EST, etc.).
• Negotiate and draft agreements with developers of content applications for mobile and broadband platforms.
• Negotiate and draft agreements with new media ad agencies.
• Negotiate and draft development deals for original content produced for new media.
• Research and provide content rights analysis with respect to new media and ancillary exploitation.
• Provide legal analysis of affiliation agreements as they relate to new media.
• Handle other general business and legal affairs projects for all networks, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum seven to ten years of legal experience in a major law firm or media company.
• Minimum two years of experience handling new media transactional work.
• Familiarity with new media business and deal structures.
• Knowledge of DMCA helpful.
• Excellent academic credentials and solid references.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Teamwork-oriented attitude.
• Initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Ability to work independently, set own priorities under deadlines, and to multitask.
