JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Timely and accurately track the costs for multiple projects (in-house, 3rd party, and licensed) on an on-going basis.
• Create weekly and/or monthly cash flows for in-house projects.
• Generate weekly cost reports for each project assigned.
• List all commitments and cost estimates in purchase order log. Generate hard-copy purchase orders (as needed).
• Ensure that all new hire, re-hire, and transfer paperwork is completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with Company procedures, as well as with Federal and State guidelines.
• Enter off-site crew timecards into internal payroll system (IRIS) and/or process out-of-state crew timecards through 3rd party payroll vendor (such as Entertainment Partners) (as needed).
• Review weekly payroll chargeback report with Production Managers/Supervisors for accuracy and ensure that timecards are approved by payroll deadline.
• Confirm receipt of goods and services with Production Team.
• Process all invoices, check requests, expense reports, per diem request, and travel requests.
• Request appropriate new vendor paperwork (W-9 forms, independent contractor agreements, contract approval forms, electronic funds transfer forms, etc.) to assure that payments can be made in a timely manner and submit paperwork to Finance Dept (as needed).
• Determine estimates to complete in conjunction with Production Managers/Supervisors.
• Reconcile accounts to general ledger and payroll reports, prepare journal entries, prepare monthly and year-end accruals, and assist with re-forecast.
• Investigate and resolve open issues with payables, spending, etc.
• Coordinate with internal departments (i.e. IT, facilities, finance, human resources, etc.) to meet production needs and help streamline the production process.
• Additional Duties for 3rd Party Produced Projects:
o Review cash flows submitted by 3rd parties with Production Managers/Supervisors and submit approved cash flows to Accounts Payable Department.
o Review 3rd party cost reports with Production Managers/Supervisors and report any issues to network management.
o Act as liaison between 3rd Party Production Companies and Accounts Payable Dept.
• Observe all department and company guidelines.
• Assist in administering budget policies to ensure that all activities affecting the budget are guided by uniform rules and established procedures.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1-2 years Production Accounting or related experience required. Broadcast/Cable experience preferred.
• Must have solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end, and cost reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must be an extremely organized, accurate, and dependable team player, who works well under pressure while handling multiple responsibilities, but is also self-motivated, proactive, flexible, resourceful, and diplomatic.
• Must be trusted to keep sensitive information secure.
• PC SKILLS: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook proficient.
