TOKYOPOP will tour America, going to anime and manga conventions, bookstores, libraries, parking lots… anywhere our passion leads us!... to film the reality show AMERICA’S GREATEST OTAKU, promote TOKYOPOP, our stories, and our characters. The EP of the show, the videographer/editor, and six college kids (cast/crew) and possibly YOU will be eating, sleeping, and living on a huge tour bus for 12 weeks - our rock-band type entertainer tour bus will travel about 20,000 miles in 95 days starting May 27, 2010. We need a Tour Manger -- and if you’re passionate, experienced, organized, and a little bit insane, this gig could be yours!
JOB DESCRIPTION: TOKYOPOP Tour Manager
REPORTS TO: Stu Levy, Executive Producer (and coincidentally, TOKYOPOP CEO)
POSITION OBJECTIVES: Manage all daily operations and activities of the TOKYOPOP Tour
DUTIES:
• Manage and support the energies of a team of 2 production executives, bus driver, and 6 college students to set-up, tear down, equipment reloading onto the bus, and troubleshoot all events.
• Coordinate with third parties (sponsors, venue management, press, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the Tour and show are properly implemented and represented.
• Manage all scheduling and budgetary matters, including but not limited to; settling bills, travel arrangements, overseeing hotel arrivals and departures on time, paying per diems and/or other cash matters.
• Oversee the needs of tour participants, including meals, sleeping arrangements on the bus, laundry, etc. etc. You’re the den mother to nine people traveling on the bus for 95 days straight, so there will be all sorts of random things you’ll need to handle.
• Handling logistics of bus including parking spaces for sleep, food stops, shower stops, etc.
• Confirming show contestants arrive on time at the proper location, wear appropriate clothing for shoot, sign releases, etc.
• Arranging chosen locations, logistics, and obtaining filming permits in advance of schedule. Confirming locations, signed location releases, prep for shooting, and other location logistics.
• Create and maintain communication calendar and coordinate with Los Angeles-based personnel the day-to-day community management/maintenance on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others).
• Ensuring crew/cast is in the right place, right time for marketing events and feature shoots.
• Report each event's estimated attendance figures to management.
• Preparing cast and crew schedule sheets for the next day.
• Managing promotional activities; i.e. TV, radio, and press interviews at locations.
• Assuring all on-site and at-event sales are complete and cash collected/deposited.
• Other duties as necessary to support the objectives of the TOKYOPOP Tour and the show.

• Experienced and road tested tour manager.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and budgets.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• Energetic, creative, and passionate; a true go-getter.
• Supervisory experience. Solid leadership skills. Ability to train and motivate others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
