Responsibilities: Reports to the Manager of Production Finance, position is responsible for: creating and reviewing video production budgets, managing vendor relationships and general administrative assistance for both production and technology teams in Los Angeles and New York.
• Completion of weekly freelance payroll
• Audit and manage Petty Cash and T/E expenses
• Create, track and actualize purchase orders for multiple productions
• Review and understand video production budgets in multiple formats
• Actualize and complete budget actuals
• Work with producers to assure production accounting needs are met
• Understanding and maintaining general business practice ethics and rules. Complete understanding of company policy and procedures
• Ensure policy/procedure are followed by freelance production personnel
• Produce weekly report of accounting status of multiple video productions
• Communicate with producers and production managers in regard to status of video production schedules
• Assist producer in creation and management of contracts with freelancers and vendors
• Establish rates and accounts with vendors
• Assist production and technical staff, working with Finance Manager, with purchasing.
• Assist production and technical staff with scheduling.
• Various administrative duties.
Skills/Requirements:
• 1-3 years experience in production and/or pre-production environments is required.
• Understanding of video and audio source equipment, signal formats and standards.
• Familiarity with standard production industry budgeting and scheduling methods.
• Strong organizational skills and possess a friendly, can-do attitude and a customer focus.
• Experience with internet applications, Mac, PC and networked environments is important.
• Must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with internet video production and emerging interactive television technologies.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with expert knowledge of common office applications. Relevant experience in the management of production personnel is very important.
• Education: Bachelors or equivalent. With at least 5 years of experience in production and/or pre-production related trades.
