Job Description:
General duties include but are not limited to:
Brainstorming meetings to develop ideas for press and public outreach in our film publicity campaigns
Building specific press contacts (typically college press) to work with on film coverage
Research projects on prior film campaigns, talent press history, or specific press contacts/outlets
Helping with the Breaks (daily newspaper and online press clippings)
General office work (copies, mailings, shredding, phones, etc.)
Helping with events (press junkets, red carpet premieres, etc.)
Organizing film screenings
Coordinating and scheduling talent and filmmaker travel
Maintaining contact lists
Updating status reports and various documents
Qualifications:
Fox Searchlight Pictures Publicity Interns are expected to be eager, ready to learn, and help out with any task. We are looking for a student who is responsible, punctual, and possesses good communication skills with a professional demeanor. Communication, marketing, broadcast, film majors preferred, although we are open to anyone who is enthusiastic.
Must be enrolled in an accredited university and be eligible to receive academic credit
Prior internship experience preferred in the film industry and/or publicity related
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other office applications
interested in film publicity and what goes into building a film campaign
excellent at internet research
is hard working, friendly and enthusiastic
creates and seeks out projects
has great verbal and written communication skills
is a self-starter who thinks out of the box and can multi-task
