Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2001 following the attacks on the World Trade Center to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan through an annual celebration of film, music and culture. The Festival’s mission focuses on assisting filmmakers to reach the broadest possible audience, enabling the international film community and general public to experience the power of cinema and promoting New York City as a major filmmaking center.
Internship description: The Tribeca Film Festival is seeking Cinema/Media Studies students and recent graduates to help support the programming department screen submissions and provide coverage for both feature and short length films. Candidates will be exposed to the programming process during Tribeca Film Festival’s call for submissions and will be involved in the Festival taking place in the spring of 2010.

• have the capacity and interest to evaluate creative material
The program runs from September 2009 to May 2010 (peak dates from September through February; Interns must be available to participate during the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, to be held from April 21st to May 2nd). Students must commit to approximately 10-15 hours per week and will mainly work from home.
