Job Description
With 245 million monthly listeners in the U.S., iHeartMedia has the largest reach of any radio or television outlet in America, serving 150 cities through 858 owned radio stations. The company's operations include radio broadcasting, online and mobile services and products, syndication, music research services and independent media representation. iHeartMedia is a division of iHeartMedia, Inc. (OTCBB: IHRT), a leading global media and entertainment company.
Total Traffic & Weather Network (TTWN), a division of iHeartMedia, is the leading provider of traffic, transit and weather information in the United States. TTWN reaches more than 200 million monthly listeners across more than 200 markets, expanding its portfolio to include localized weather information such as surf and heat index reports. With services to over 3,000 radio and 200 television affiliates plus automotive, navigation, internet, mobile and government partners, Total Traffic & Weather Network operates the largest traffic data gathering network, staffed with over 800 local traffic reporters, in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Position Overview
As a Total Traffic Network ''Strategic Account Manager'' you will sell-in and execute strategic multi-market tactics using our unique in-content short-form broadcast media platform. You will work directly with corporate headquarters and regional offices, as well as with local advertising and promotional agencies to sell any/all of Total Traffic Network's 200+ markets around the country. We are seeking a marketing/advertising/promotion sales professional to help develop new and incremental business with regional and national companies based in the local area. This is a customer-based solutions selling position that requires business development, relationship management, concept presentation and execution. The ideal candidate enjoys and excels at being part investigative reporter, part educator, part marketing consultant, part closer. In this position you will develop and manage effective communications initiatives ranging from retail/branding media support to public opinion/advocacy campaigns. The ability to engage prospects and clients intelligently and build relationships at all levels is essential. Equally important is a willingness to work in partnership with colleagues in other regions when multiple decision makers are involved in the sales process. Our clients include many of the Fortune 100, hundreds of leading consumer brands as well as State and Federal government agencies.
Required Skills
Identify companies and organizations who fit our ideal customer profile; Engage intelligently with these prospects.
Conduct face-to-face strategic discovery to understand their marketing communication needs/goals and identify the potential relevance of and applications for Total Traffic & Weather Network.
Communicate how our unique platform can help achieve these goals and/or be used to solve other specific needs.
Create successful sales strategies and support applications using embedded inventory.
Prepare ideas, present concepts and actionable proposals, deliver plans to close business.
Cultivate active corporate and agency accounts by being a solutions provider, not just a media vendor.
Required Experience
B.A. with a minimum of 3-5 years of sales, marketing, media planning or related experience as either employee, independent contractor or consultant.
Experience preferred but not required: previous work in media or sponsorship sales; account management experience and/or a history of customer-focused, strategic selling/consulting.
Superior presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong and cooperative working relationships with key internal and external constituencies.
Prospecting and closing skills and a sincere interest in and enthusiasm for the entire sales and marketing process are critical.
We look for individuals with high levels of creativity, persistence, organization, independence and resourcefulness.
The Company is an equal opportunity employer and will not tolerate discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, ethnicity, national origin, marital status, status as a protected veteran, genetic information, or any other legally protected classification or status.
