Position Overview
The Manager/Director, Local Research will partner with sales leadership in local markets and provide critical audience insight and industry trends by leveraging his or her expertise in areas such as audience, ad sales, media and digital research, analytics, operations, and programming.
Required Skills
•Ensure timely and accurate availability of local market intelligence and trends to position Clear Channel Media + Entertainment as the platform of choice with local advertisers.
•Develop and maintain a knowledgebase of relevant local market intelligence and trends, including research methodologies, evolving technologies, consumer behaviors, client expectations, shifting competitive landscape, etc.
•Create a sophisticated understanding and deep appreciation for Clear Channel's brand and how its audience consumes media at the market and local level.
•Understands the voice of the Consumer and Advertiser, and translate this knowledge into competitive advantages across all Clear Channel Media and Entertainment properties.
•Provide meaningful research, metrics and analytical insight into advertising effectiveness, consumer insights.
•Function in a matrixed organization providing valuable insight to heads of sales, marketing, digital, or regions while reporting to an Insights leader.
•Work closely with ads sales team to develop research strategies, plans, and solutions.
Required
Experience
•5+ years of research experience at a traditional or digital media company or relevant consumer research role in other industries.
•Ad sales research experience at a major media company and experience with media research sources a plus.
•Expertise across a range of research and analytics approaches, primary and syndicated.
•Excellent presentation skills.
•Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and an ability to organize, prioritize, and clarify deliverables.
•Ability to create productive, long-term internal and external relationships.
•Profound business acumen and insightful understanding of industry trends & revenue drivers.
•Ability to make tough business and people decisions, while creating positive energy in the face of challenges.
•Ability to push self and others to excel and execute in a multi-task, fast-paced dynamic environment.
•Ability to balance data analytics, problem solving, and moving forward with speed to achieve maximum results.
•Excellent communication and influencing abilities across multiple levels.
•Ability to create and leverage a highly collaborative operating environment.
•Undergraduate degree required; Graduate degree a plus.
