Position Overview
The Director of Revenue Management partners with Region Presidents and local sales management to determine, set and ultimately execute against appropriate pricing at the appropriate inventory levels to maximize cluster revenues, protect ratings and increase share.
The DORM utilizes a variety of analytical tools to identify short and long-term opportunities and risks and, ultimately, develop the best possible plan to generate the best possible revenue outcome. This positionentails quickly formulating and executing specific account level goals - by balancing volume and rate - to drive revenue.
The DORM reports to the VP of RM for the Division and has a dotted line report to the Region President of the markets they support.
Responsibilities
• Pricing: Work closely with management to identify trends, market conditions, and client demand to develop, implement, and communicate appropriate pricing and inventory strategies for the cluster.
• Set optimal short/long term pricing in order to maximize opportunities and reduce risks
• Proactively identify leverage opportunities and peak demand inventories in time for Sales to monetize/reduce spoilage and/or drive rate
• Evaluate packages for sales initiatives or contesting, identifying areas to improve yield and efficiency
• Annual /Key Account cluster strategy: Provide historical client analysis, identify and promote cross platform volume and rate opportunities to stimulate net revenue growth
• Trend Analysis: Assess pacing information to isolate drivers, mitigate attrition and optimize growth trends
• Inventory Management: Partner with Traffic and Programming to maximize and leverage inventory based on market/station conditions
• Reporting: Provide regular reporting to support overall sales efforts and/or initiatives, including rate and volume analysis, market competive statistics and advertiser placement comps
• Educate and drive market compliance around company initiatives
• Training and Education: provide baseline training for local leaders on internal suite of products
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree is required
• 3 years previous Revenue Management or related experience required
